Thank you for your interest in joining the leadership team. Our leadership team is formally addressed as the Advisory Leadership Council (ALC) for Memphis Urban League Young Professionals (MULYP). 


MULYP is an organization committed to uplifting Greater Memphis Area while fostering the personal and professional development of our members.

Our membership is comprised of young professionals ages 21-40. We look forward to your participation in continuing our efforts to make a difference in the Memphis community. Our members play an active role in our organization. 

In order to become a member of the advisory leadership council , you must complete an application, interview, and meet all of the requirements and expectations listed below.

ALC Requirements & Expectation 

  • Financially Active 

  • Young Professional between the ages of 21-40 

  • Must reside in the city of Memphis or the surrounding area.

  • Serve the remainder of the 1 year leadership term. The official term for the MULYP Advisory Leadership Council is January 1, 2024-Decemer 31, 2024.  

  • Attend monthly general body meetings

  • Attend monthly Advisory Leadership Council meetings 

  • Attend & lead monthly committee meetings 

  • Complete a minimum of 10 service hours per year

  • Regular communication with ALC & committee members via, text, group messaging platforms, email, and phone calls 

  • Promote the work of the chapter through advocacy and involvement in programs & events outside of the committee led events you are over 

  • Collaboration with ALC, community partners,  committee co-chair, and committee members

  • Recruitment and cultivation of new and current members to the organization and for your committee 

  • Estimated Time commitment: 10 hours per week

ALC Application & Interview Process

  1. Complete the ALC Application

  2. Once candidates have completed their application they will be contacted to select an interview time. 

  3. All applicants selected for ALC positions will be notified no later than 5 days after being interviewed to update them on if they were selected.
