About the event

October 2021 marked 30 years since the establishment of the 17 Principles of Environmental Justice which called for the decolonization of the environmental justice movement with centering the voices of Black, Latinx and Indigenous people who are the most disproportionately impacted by environmental racism.

Black Millennials 4 Flint has partnered with the Memphis Urban League Young Professionals Join Week 2022 to launch a private pre-screening of "Towards Environmental Justice", a short documentary honoring our ancestors, elders, and modern environmental justice leaders. The documentary features world renowned environmental justice leaders such as Mustafa Ali Santiago, Jade Begay and more!

The post-debut fireside chat will feature:

LaTricea D. Adams, MAT, EdS, founder CEO and President of Black Millennials 4 Flint and the youngest African American Woman appointed to the inaugural White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council. Shalondan Hollingshed, President of the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP), Immediate Past NULYP Southern Region VP and Former President of the Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals. Kawanza Billy, NULYP Advocacy Chair, Former Advocacy Chair of Thursday Network Greater Washington Urban League Young Professionals

This event was made possible by our sponsor the Climate Action Campaign.

The private pre-screening will take place on February 13, 2022 1PM-3PM CT at 1130 College Street, Memphis, TN. The pre-recorded video of the post-debut fireside chat will broadcast on Facebook Live February 17, 2022 6PM CT/7PM ET.
