Memphis Urban League Annual Empowerment Luncheon

The Memphis Urban League (MUL) will host its Annual Empowerment Luncheon on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 11:30AM – 1:00PM. This event will be held at the University of Memphis Holiday Inn located at 3700 Central Ave with Michael P. McMillan, President & CEO of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis as the Keynote Speaker.

McMillan will address the legacy of the Urban League Movement; the essence of its empowerment and the change that empowerment brings to future generations. As an accomplished civic leader, an advocate for social and economic empowerment and a public servant, McMillan oversees the largest and highest rated Urban League affiliate in the country. During the Ferguson uprising, tear-gassed and arrested, McMillan a foot soldier for justice sought to bring peace to a torn community. In the aftermath of the Ferguson crisis, McMillan helped to organize resources for the community to address the immediate needs.…
